Terms of Service

TheApple Inc. (“Apple”)Website Terms of Use located at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/terms/site.html and the terms below (collectively the “Terms”) apply to your use of Support Assistant. By using Support Assistant, you agree to these Terms.

Eligibility & Account Registration


You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use Support Assistant. If you are under 18, you must have your parent or guardian’s consent to use Support Assistant.

You may need to create an account to use Support Assistant. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for any activity on your account.

Using Support Assistant


Support Assistant is intended for technical support purposes only, and can provide you with answers related to certain Apple products and services. Do not use Support Assistant for emergency situations.You may interact with Support Assistant for lawful and appropriate purposes only.

By using Support Assistant, you agree not to:

  • Build or enhance other products using outputs from the Support Assistant.
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract underlying models or code.
  • Interfere with or disrupt Support Assistant by circumventing protective measures or safeguards.
  • Infringe or violate the intellectual property, publicity, or privacy rights of Apple or others.
  • Engage in any conduct that exposes Apple, its subsidiaries, or affiliates, to any liability, damages, or detriment, including reputational harms.

Services


You may provide input to Support Assistant and receive corresponding output from Support Assistant based on such input. Inputs and outputs are collectively referred to as “Chats.” Apple logs inputs and outputs and may use Chats to provide, maintain, develop, and improve our business technologies, comply with applicable laws, enforce our terms and policies, and keep our Site safe.

Support Assistant uses generative models. You understand and agree that generative models may occasionally generate incorrect, misleading, incomplete, offensive, or harmful outputs. To the extent you choose to use Support Assistant, you do so at your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with any applicable laws. You agree to use Support Assistant at your sole risk and that Apple shall have no liability to you for outputs that may be found to be incorrect, misleading, incomplete, offensive, or harmful. It is your responsibility to review and evaluate outputs for accuracy and appropriateness. You should not rely on outputs from Support Assistant as your only source of information or as a substitute for professional advice.

You must not use any outputs relating to you or another person for any purpose that could have a legal or material impact on any such persons, such as decisions related to credit, or educational, employment, housing, insurance, legal, medical, or any other consequential decisions.

Rights


Apple and its licensors retain ownership of the Support Assistant and reserve all rights not expressly granted to you.

To the extent that you upload or input any content through the use of the Support Assistant, you represent that you own all rights in, or have authorization or are otherwise legally permitted to upload, such content. You agree that the Support Assistant and its services contain proprietary content, information, and material that is owned by Apple and/or its licensors, and is protected by applicable intellectual property and other laws, including but not limited to copyright. You agree that you will not use such proprietary content, information or materials other than for permitted use of the Support Assistant, or in any manner that is inconsistent with these terms, violates applicable laws or regulations, or infringes any intellectual property or other rights of a third party or Apple.

Privacy


Support Assistant is designed with your privacy in mind. Although the support experience requires information about your account and devices, we endeavor to minimize unnecessary details. When sharing information with our partners who we work with to provide Support Assistant, we pseudonymize serial numbers, remove unique identifiers, and redact transcripts. Certain personal identifiers, like your name, and your city and state, will not be removed if you choose to provide them in the Chats as this data is used to create the conversational experience. Apple and its partners may record a copy of these chats.If you choose to consult with an Apple advisor, they will receive a copy of the transcript and the troubleshooting steps you have taken, which will be saved with your Apple Account as part of your support case. Finally, Apple will save this transcript and use it to provide you with the support you are requesting, for business analytics, and to improve AppleCaretechnology. Support Assistant Availability


YOU EXPRESSLY ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT, TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, USE OF SUPPORT ASSISTANT AND ANY SERVICES PERFORMED BY OR ACCESSED THROUGH SUPPORT ASSISTANT IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK AND THAT THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO SATISFACTORY QUALITY, PERFORMANCE, ACCURACY, AND EFFORT IS WITH YOU.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SUPPORT ASSISTANT AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS-IS" AND "AS–AVAILABLE," WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, AND APPLE HEREBY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY.

You may stop using the Support Assistant at any time.You agree that Apple may, in its sole discretion and without prior notice, terminate your access to Support Assistant, which includes for reasons including but not limited to (1) requests by law enforcement or other government agencies, (2) a request by you (self-initiated account deletions), (3) discontinuance or modification of Support Assistant, or (4) unexpected technical issues or problems.Apple is not liable for any damages or loss resulting from service interruptions or changes.
